Most of the emotions I felt during that season of my life was frustration, anger, series of confusion and burn-out.
I have been working on my research for months with no headway, it seems I was never going to be able to do this. At a point I felt probably I am even doing the wrong thing. I questioned myself if I actually pray before entering the program.
I questioned myself a lot of times, nights I held back the tears, days I allowed it flow freely cos I was just tired.

I was called a sickly student because the chemicals were too much for my system to bear. I worked throughout the night when a high percentage of people were asleep in their houses.
But as I walked down from the north side of the school to the south side of school. I tune in into my boomplay to get in my music mood. It kept playing till it got to this song tagged “CONFIDENT” by Steffany Gretzinger & Bobby Strand.

Lyrics of CONFIDENT by Steffany Gretzinger
[Verse 1: Steffany Gretzinger]
You’re always moving in the unseen
The breath You exhale sustaining me
Before I call, You know my need
You’re always going before me

[Chorus: Steffany Gretzinger]
I’m confident Your faithfulness will see me through
My soul can rest, my righteousness is found in You
With every moment left, in every borrowed breath, let this be true
That all my heart, for all my life, belongs to You
[Verse 2: Bobby Strand]
Your laughter scatters my enemies
You give me joy for my mourning
You lift my head so I can see
All of heaven surrounding me

[Chorus: Steffany Gretzinger & Bobby Strand]
I’m confident Your faithfulness will see me through
My soul can rest, my righteousness is found in You
With every moment left, in every borrowed breath, let this be true
That all my heart, for all my life, belongs to You

[Bridge: Steffany Gretzinger & Bobby Strand]
I won’t win this battle with the strength in my own hands
You’re the mountain-mover and only You can
I won’t build my life on sinking sand
You’re my hope forever, the rock where I stand
I won’t win this battle with the strength in my own hands
You’re the mountain-mover and only You can
I won’t build my life on sinking sand
You’re my hope forever, the rock where I stand!
The rock where I stand!
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

[Chorus: Steffany Gretzinger & Bobby Strand]
I’m confident Your faithfulness will see me through
My soul can rest, my righteousness is found in You
With every moment left, in every borrowed breath, let this be true
That all my heart, for all my life, belongs to You

The beginning says God is always moving in the unseen, meaning he is working in the unseen situations of my life. His breathe is going to sustain me and He knows my need, He is going before me. What a gush of assurance wrapped in a song.
A particular line of the lyrics stuck to me as I listened and here is it. “I won’t win this battle with the strength in my own hands. You’re the mountain-mover and only You can. I won’t build my life on sinking sand. You’re my hope forever, the rock where I stand.

Those lines became my Watchword in that season, anytime frustration kicks in, I say it over and over. I had that song on repeat for a long time. Each repeat reminds me that my soul can rest because His faithfulness will carry me through.💃💃💃
