An initiative of Deborah Briggs to inspire hope this season. Read stories of others who are going/have gone through tough times like you. Don’t lose hope this season! Read and share with someone!

Read Emmanuel’s story below:

I just finished an exam I would tag as my worst. I have never been so blank for more than 20 minutes into the start of any paper prior to then.
No thanks to my body not being strong enough and that sponsored my ill-preparations.
Left the exam hall feeling so bad and scared I might fail for the first time in my final year Wept a bit on my bed.

Emmanuel

A friend tried encouraging me but it was really hard to get over it.
I gathered myself later and took a walk.

WATCH: DEALING WITH WORRY

While doing that, the song, Still/Be Still and Know by Don Moen, dropped in my heart and I started singing.
When the oceans rise and thunders roar

I will soar with You, above the storm

Father, You are King over the flood.

I will be still, know You are God…(Chorus excerpt)
I smiled and let the words assure me of the hope that I have in God. I felt joy on the inside.

I got better and scaled past that hurdle. I didn’t fail the course as well.
Now, when my heart seems to be a little troubled, this song births hope and faith in me that He is in control and I need not be overwhelmed. He is the one who stills the storms.
