New followers 👏👏👏

Welcome on board👏👏👏

It’s a pleasure having you on here.

Yaay! This post is a result of a lot of encounters I’ve had in various relationships. You’d understand better if you read on.

I’d share this part giving an illustration from my relationship with God while other parts would come up in subsequent posts. 😄

CRAZY STUFF!

I remember my early days as a Christian, I always wanted to see Jesus appear to me each time I prayed😂 I mean I loved the Lord and was so passionate but ignorant. I had seen videos of a man who shared his experiences of Jesus appearing to him and even eating with him lol and I coveted that…

I mean how cool would that be? 😎

Great isn’t it? 😂 ‘of course’… No!

What was I even thinking? I truly believe people do more when they know more. Asides the truth that our relationship with God should be by faith, I didn’t realise intimacy/growth couldn’t come until I spent time with God in prayers and study of the Word(although I was doing that).

Don’t get me wrong, there could be supernatural occurrences in your Christian life once in a while but that’s not how God really wants to relate with us. It becomes a problem when you need to have a divine visitation of angels to believe simple truths about God’s word. It’s not faith anymore.

That’s one thing wrong teachings can do! Jesus doesn’t need to appear to you because He lives in you! He’s made you His temple (He’s there to stay). A lot find that difficult to believe.
If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be the above statements🙌

I realised that if it takes seeing God face to face to believe then you miss the point!
It’s faith that pleases God not how we feel or what we see. If you have to wait to ‘get’ goosebumps to know that you’ve had quality time with God, then you’re led by the flesh not the Spirit. Then you’re not walking in the Spirit. The truth is you will never feel like praying all the time but you have to! You must not live by your feelings but by truths in His word else you would wonder why you’re not enjoying your Christian walk!

It becomes a burden when praying is an obligation or a way to move God rather than you doing it for the right reasons(enjoy fellowship with God and exercise your authority as a believer). You can’t grow the way God intends if that’s how it is with you.

There are certain things that need to be the foundation of any relationship. Before I elucidate, I’d like to state that God’s kind of love isn’t circumstancial. So whatever relationship you’re in, you should treat the people in your life with unconditional love and grace.
It leaves you with a choice to make, it’s never forceful! This is how God relates with us or should I say how God wants to relate with us.

That said, the first is Knowledge.
Intimacy thrives on knowledge when it’s based on the truth. As I desired to know God, his nature and who He truly is, I grew as a Christian.

It is a daily walk. I grow in my knowledge of Christ. It truly gets better because that’s what God desires. He wants us growing but that cannot take place without you accepting His love and walking in it. It’s something you need to be intentional about.

We should desire to know Him more🙌The more we know, the more we want to know. Ever heard any Christian complain about their Christian life before? You ask them how they spend their week after Sunday and they tell you they watch movies all through the week with no study 🙄 I’m like what did you expect, magician?

The solution to growth isn’t complaining or talking about how you’ve not done that task but actually doing it and staying consistent at it.

But sincerely my worry is when people don’t understand that in relationships, it takes two to tango.

There are different kinds of people and their attitudes towards relationships in general. I’d be touching more on that in my next post.

Thank you for your time 🙂

Does any one have any experience to share, please do!

Share your thoughts, I’d love to hear from you!
